Gate Healing, PLLC (“Gate Healing,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) operates the website at gatehealing.com (the “Site”). This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect from visitors to the Site, how we use it, and the choices you have about that information.

This policy covers information collected through the Site. It does not cover clinical records or protected health information (PHI) generated within the therapy relationship. PHI is governed by our separate Notice of Privacy Practices, which you receive during the intake process and which complies with the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA).

Information We Collect

Information You Provide

When you use the contact form on the Site, you choose what to share. The form collects your name, email address, phone number (if you provide one), and the content of your message. We use this information only to respond to your inquiry and to determine whether our services may be a fit for your needs.

Please do not include sensitive health information, clinical details, or crisis content in the contact form. Email is not a secure channel for protected health information. If you are in crisis, call or text 988 (the Suicide and Crisis Lifeline) or go to your nearest emergency room.

Information Collected Automatically

When you visit the Site, certain information is collected automatically by the technologies we use:

Analytics. We use Google Analytics 4 to understand how visitors find and use the Site. Google Analytics collects information such as your approximate geographic location (derived from IP address), the pages you view, the time you spend on the Site, the site that referred you, and general device and browser information. We have configured Google Analytics to exclude identifiable users and to anonymize IP addresses where possible. We do not use Google Analytics to identify individual visitors. You can learn more about Google’s practices at policies.google.com/privacy, and you can opt out of Google Analytics by installing Google’s opt-out browser add-on at tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.

Security. We use Wordfence and Cloudflare Turnstile to protect the Site from malicious traffic, spam, and abuse. These tools may temporarily log IP addresses, browser information, and request patterns to identify and block threats. This data is used solely for security purposes and is retained only as long as necessary.

Cookies. The Site uses a small number of cookies, primarily for analytics (Google Analytics) and security (Wordfence, Cloudflare Turnstile). You can control cookies through your browser settings. Disabling cookies may affect some Site functionality but will not prevent you from reading content or contacting us.

How We Use Information

We use the information we collect to:

• Respond to inquiries submitted through the contact form
• Determine whether Gate Healing’s services may be appropriate for your needs
• Understand how visitors use the Site and improve its content
• Protect the Site against spam, fraud, and security threats
• Comply with legal obligations

We do not sell, rent, or trade your information. We do not use contact form submissions for marketing or advertising.

How We Share Information

We share information only as necessary to operate the Site:

Service providers. We use third-party services to host the Site and deliver its functionality. These include DreamHost (web hosting), Microsoft 365 (email), Cloudflare (security and performance), and Google (analytics). These providers process information only on our behalf and under their own privacy policies.

Legal requirements. We may disclose information if required by law, court order, or a valid legal process, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of Gate Healing, our clients, or others.

We do not share contact form submissions with any third party for marketing purposes.

Your Choices

You can:

• Use the Site without submitting any personal information
• Contact us by phone instead of the contact form if you prefer
• Disable cookies in your browser
• Opt out of Google Analytics using the browser add-on linked above
• Request that we delete any information you have submitted through the Site by emailing jonathan@gatehealing.com

Children’s Privacy

The Site is directed to adults, parents, and guardians. Gate Healing provides counseling services to adolescents as well as adults, but clinical services involving minors are arranged through a parent or legal guardian and are governed by our clinical intake process, not by the Site.

The Site does not knowingly collect information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has submitted information through the Site, please contact us at jonathan@gatehealing.com and we will delete it.

Security

We take reasonable steps to protect information submitted through the Site, including encrypted connections (HTTPS), a web application firewall (Wordfence), bot protection (Cloudflare Turnstile), and secure email delivery through Microsoft 365. No system is perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee the security of information transmitted over the internet. Please do not send sensitive health information through the Site’s contact form.

Data Retention

Contact form submissions are retained as long as necessary to respond to your inquiry and to maintain a record of our communication. Analytics data is retained according to Google Analytics retention settings, currently configured to 14 months. Security logs are retained for short periods as needed to identify and respond to threats.

Jurisdiction

Gate Healing, PLLC is registered in Texas and provides counseling services to clients located in Texas. The Site is operated from the United States. If you access the Site from outside the United States, you do so on your own initiative, and the information you submit will be processed in the United States under United States law.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices, the tools we use, or applicable law. When we make changes, we will update the “Last updated” date at the top of this page. Significant changes will be noted prominently on the Site.
