As an LPC Supervisor approved by the Texas State Board of Examiners of Professional Counselors, I am currently accepting applications from a limited number of LPC Associates who exhibit potential for success and ethical behavior in this challenging field. My supervision will be for those Associates who will be responsible for their client load, either through their employer or private practice.
I consider it an honor to be an LPC Supervisor and see it as an opportunity to advance and maintain the integrity of the counseling profession.
Choosing the right supervisor is crucial as it will help you manage difficult cases, counter-transference, and guide you in exploring different interventions and treatment modalities. As a supervisor, I will assist you in translating your academic experience into practical counseling situations that are tailored to your unique style and approach.
For many LPC Associates, their relationship with their supervisor takes on a therapeutic dynamic as they navigate the contrasting experiences of accomplishment, adventure, anxiety, and uncertainty. Managing these experiences is critical for personal and professional growth.
I will be offering supervision to those who plan to work in an organization or private practice with an existing office. Although I won’t provide a formal internship with guaranteed clients, I will make referrals as appropriate, and you may use my office when available. Some employers may agree to pay all or part of your supervision fees. You should check with a CPA or the IRS to determine if you can write off your supervision fee as a business expense.
My rates for LPC Associate supervision are $450/month. We will meet for at least 1 hour each week, and half of your supervision time may be via group supervision, which is included in your monthly fee. As your skills and confidence grow, I will invite you to sit in on sessions with clients who have given consent. If the clients are comfortable, you may participate in the dialogue in these sessions.
